Track your backlinks
See every site that links to you, spot lost links, work your unlinked-mention outreach list, and find the links your competitors already have.
On this page
Backlinks shows you every site confirmed to link to your website. Each link is a live citation and a vote of authority that helps you rank, and this is where you keep track of them, spot the ones you have lost, and find new links worth winning.
Where Backlinks lives
In the sidebar, open Reputation & Listings > Backlinks (/dashboard/backlinks).
Backlinks is organised by your website, so pick the site at the top if you run more than one. A site can cover several locations at once. Choose Refresh at any time to re-check for new and lost links.
Note: Backlinks replaced the old Brand Mentions page. Sites that mention you without linking now live in the Opportunities tab here, and mentions in AI answers moved to AI Engine Visibility.
Read the summary
The tiles across the top give you the headline picture:
- Linking domains: how many separate sites link to you.
- Average authority: the typical strength of those sites.
- Dofollow: the share of links that pass ranking value rather than being tagged nofollow.
- Lost: links that were there before and have since gone.
- Last checked: when the index was last refreshed.
The four tabs
- Overview charts how your linking domains and authority have moved over time.
- All links is the full list: every linking domain, its authority, whether it is dofollow or nofollow, when it first appeared, and whether it has been lost.
- Opportunities is your outreach list. These are sites that mention your business by name but do not link to it, grouped by where they came from (Web, Editorial, Review, Directory, Reddit, YouTube). Turning a mention into a link turns a passive reference into a ranking signal. Mark one as contacted once you have reached out, or dismiss anything irrelevant so the list stays focused.
- Competitors finds your fastest wins. Enter a few competitor websites and SearchOps finds the sites that link to them but not to you, ranked by how many of your rivals already have each one. Those shared links are usually the easiest to earn.
Tip: Work the Opportunities and Competitors tabs together. Unlinked mentions are links you have half-earned already, and competitor gaps are links you know your market is willing to give.
Getting the most from it
Backlinks depends on knowing your website, which is set on each location, so make sure that is filled in first. Then treat it as an ongoing habit: refresh every so often, chase the best opportunities, and keep an eye on the Lost count so you can react when an important link drops.
Backlinks is one part of your off-site presence. Pair it with Audit and monitor your citations to keep your directory listings consistent, Track your competitors to see who you are up against, and Track AI Engine Visibility to see where AI answers name you.
