Posts let you publish updates, offers and news straight to your Google Business Profile without leaving SearchOps, so your listing stays active and fresh for the customers (and the search results) that find you.

Where to find Posts

Open Google Business > Posts in the sidebar, or go to your Posts workspace. You will see a Calendar view (scheduled and published posts laid out on their dates) and a List view with status filters for scheduled, published, draft and failed posts.

Connect a profile first

Posts publish to a Google Business Profile you have connected, so you need at least one active profile before you can post. If you have not connected one yet, follow Connect your Google Business Profile. Once a profile is active, the New post button becomes available.

Write and publish a post

Select New post (or click an empty future day in the Calendar to start one for that date). The composer opens as a side panel:

  1. Pick the connected profile you want to post to.
  2. Choose a topic type. Standard is available on every plan.
  3. Write your post body (up to 1,500 characters).
  4. Optionally add an image by pasting a public image URL.
  5. Optionally turn on a call-to-action button, such as Book, Order or Call, and add its destination link.
  6. Select Post now to publish straight away.

Note: Each published post costs 1 credit. See How credits and quotas work for the details.

Let the agent draft it for you

If you would rather not start from a blank page, use the Draft with AI panel inside the composer. Pick a goal, describe what the post is about, add any key details and choose a tone, then select Generate draft. The agent writes a first version into the post body using what your business is found for and your recent posts as context. You can edit it freely, or use Refine to ask for a quick tweak in plain English, such as "make it shorter" or "add the dates". Drafting and refining are included in your plan.

Schedule for later

To publish at a future time rather than now, turn on Schedule for later and pick a date and time. The button changes to Schedule post, and the post appears on your Calendar as scheduled until it goes live automatically. Scheduled and published posts both show in the List view, where you can filter by status or remove a post.

Tip: A steady drip of posts keeps your profile looking active. Pair this with Read your Google Business Profile performance to see how your updates land with customers over time.

If a post is rejected, it shows as failed with the reason from Google, so you can adjust the wording or image and try again.
