Keywords & rank tracking

Import keywords from Google Search Console

Connect Search Console and pull in the queries you already rank for.

Last reviewed June 20262 min read

Google Search Console knows the real queries people use to find you. Connecting it lets you import those terms straight into your keyword library, so you track what you already rank for instead of guessing.

What you'll need

  • A paid plan. Connecting Search Console requires a paid plan.
  • A Google account with access to the Search Console property for your website.

Connect Search Console

  1. Go to Import Keywords in the dashboard.
  2. Find the From Google Search Console option and select Connect Search Console.
  3. Sign in with the Google account that has access to the property and approve access.
  4. Choose the property that matches the website for this location.

The access is read-only. SearchOps reads your Search Analytics data and never changes anything in Search Console.

Note: This uses a standard, non-sensitive Google permission, so connecting is quick. It is separate from Google Analytics, which is a different integration.

Review and import

Once connected, SearchOps lists the queries your site appears for, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Each query is tagged by intent, so you can tell a money term from an informational one at a glance.

You can also group similar queries into clusters to see your real themes, then import the ones worth tracking with a couple of clicks. Importing adds them to your library; you spend a slot only when a keyword is active.

Tip: The best opportunities are usually queries with plenty of impressions but a weak average position. You already rank, just not high enough, so a small improvement can win real clicks.

What if I am at my slot limit?

Imported keywords still come in. Anything beyond your active limit simply waits in the library until you free up or add slots. Nothing is lost. See Keyword slots explained.
