Answer Engine Visibility
More and more customers start with an AI assistant, not a search box. There's no position one to win here: your business is either named in the answer or it's invisible. Answer Engine Visibility samples ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity and Claude for the prompts your customers actually use, and shows how often each one recommends you, in what words, and against which competitors. Launching July 2026.
Why it's different
Built for the way local SEO actually works
Four engines, one view
ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, sampled for the same prompts so you can compare where you show up and where you don't.
Share of voice
Across a fixed basket of prompts, how often each engine names you versus the competitors you care about. The honest metric for AI search.
Sentiment and accuracy
When an engine does name you, is the description accurate and positive? We score the mention, not just count it.
Citations and sources
The pages each engine leaned on to build its answer, so you can see which sources are putting competitors in front of you.
Why this matters
There is no ranking in an AI answer
An AI assistant rewrites the question, retrieves from sources you can't see, and writes a single synthesised reply. Two customers asking the same thing get different wording. So 'rank number one in ChatGPT' is a fiction. What is real, and what we measure, is presence: across a fixed set of prompts sampled repeatedly, how often are you named, cited and recommended, and with what sentiment. It's a probabilistic visibility rate, tracked over time, not a position you can game.
- A fixed prompt basket, re-sampled on a schedule so the trend is comparable run to run
- Named-or-not presence per engine, aggregated into a share-of-voice rate
- The competitors named instead of you, engine by engine
- Sentiment on every mention, because being named negatively is its own problem
Prompts, not keywords
Anchored to what your customers actually ask
Keyword optimization doesn't map onto AI assistants, because customers ask long, contextual questions, not two-word queries. We build keyword-anchored prompts from your services and locations, the realistic questions a customer would type, then run them across every engine. You see your visibility on the questions that actually send business your way, per location.
- Prompts generated from your services, categories and locations
- Local intent baked in, so 'near me' and city-level questions are covered
- Per-location reporting for multi-site brands and agency client estates
- Edit and add your own prompts when you know the questions that matter
From measurement to movement
See the gap, then close it where it counts
Measuring AI visibility is only useful if you can act on it. The same signals that put a business into AI answers are the ones SearchOps already manages: consistent citations, brand mentions across the web, a complete Google Business Profile, and strong reviews. Answer Engine Visibility shows you where you're absent and who's named instead; your citation, brand-mention and GBP tools are how you change it.
- Spot the prompts and engines where competitors own the answer and you don't
- See the sources feeding those answers, then go earn or correct them
- Tie gaps back to your citation consistency and brand-mention coverage
- Track whether the trend moves after you ship the work, not just a one-off snapshot
How it works
Three steps from signup to insight
Pick a location and services
Choose the location you want to measure. We use its services, categories and area to understand what customers would ask an assistant.
We generate and run prompts
A set of realistic, keyword-anchored prompts is built and sampled across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on your schedule.
Read your share of voice
See how often each engine names you, the sentiment of each mention, the sources cited, and the competitors winning the answers you're missing.
Credits
How it's billed
Answer Engine Visibility runs on a dedicated AI-visibility credit pack, separate from your geo-grid scan credits, because sampling four assistants is a different cost base. One prompt sampled across the engines is one check, and scheduled tracking batches them for you. Full pack pricing lands with the July launch.
- One prompt sampled across all four engines is one check
- Sampled on a weekly or daily cadence per location
- Billed from a dedicated AI-visibility pack, never from your scan credits
