Google Business Profile

Run a Google Business Profile audit

Audit a profile against 30+ ranking and completeness signals and act on the fixes.

Last reviewed June 20262 min read

A profile audit scores your Google Business Profile against the signals that influence how well you rank and how often people choose you. It turns a vague "improve your listing" into a clear, prioritized list of fixes, each with the points at stake.

What you'll need

Run an audit

  1. Go to GBP Audit in the dashboard.
  2. Select the profile and start the audit.
  3. Wait a moment while it pulls your live profile data and scores it.

What it checks

The audit groups its checks into six areas:

  • Profile basics: name, description, core details.
  • Categories: your primary and additional categories.
  • Visual presence: photos and imagery.
  • Reviews: volume, rating, and recency.
  • Hours and attributes: opening hours and the attributes customers filter by.
  • Engagement: posts and activity.

It also reviews the quality of your business description and suggests a stronger version you can use.

Everything rolls up into a single score out of 100, color-coded so you can see at a glance whether a profile is healthy or needs work.

Acting on the results

Each failing check becomes a recommendation card explaining what is wrong, why it matters, and how many points it is worth. They are ranked by priority, so work top down: the high-priority items move your score the most.

Tip: Categories and a complete, specific description are common quick wins. Fix the high-priority items first, then re-run the audit to confirm the score has climbed.

How often can I audit?

Audits are capped per location each month, and the cap rises with your plan: Starter includes one per location per month, Pro two, and Agency and Enterprise are unlimited. A failed audit still counts toward the cap, so make sure the profile is connected and live before running one. See the pricing page for current limits.
