Keywords & rank tracking

Build your keyword library

Add keywords to your library and activate the ones you want to track.

Last reviewed June 20262 min read

Your keyword library is the full set of search terms you care about for a location. Adding keywords is free and there is no limit on how many you keep, so build the list out as widely as you like.

Add keywords to a location

  1. Go to Keywords in the dashboard and select Add keywords.
  2. Choose the location the keywords belong to.
  3. Pick how you want to find them: type or paste your own list, let the agent build a strategy from your business details, or import the queries you already show up for from Search Console.

Adding the same terms to several branches at once is one click from the same screen. To see everything you have across every location, use the All keywords tab on the Keywords page, where you can search, filter, and switch keywords on or off in bulk.

New keywords start tracking straight away. Nothing is rationed, so a big import costs you nothing until those keywords are actually checked.

Choose what to watch closely

Every keyword you track can be checked as often as you like. What uses your allowance is the checking, not the keeping: one keyword looked up is one rank check.

Tip: Treat checking frequency as your attention budget. Put this month's priorities on daily, leave the rest on weekly, and change your mind whenever you like. A keyword you stop checking keeps its full history.

How rankings refresh

You choose the cadence, on every plan: daily, weekly, monthly, or a different answer per keyword. Each check looks at your position across Google's organic results, the local pack, and AI surfaces, on both desktop and mobile, and counts as one rank check. Checking daily uses about seven times the allowance of checking weekly.

Note: Rank tracking does not spend scan credits. It draws on your monthly rank checks instead. See Rank checks explained.

See your rankings

Open Rank tracker to see positions over time per location and per keyword, so you can watch trends as you optimise. To track on autopilot, set up a recurring rank-check schedule under Scheduled.
